Founded on a Vision of Excellence
Susanchris International Model Schools was conceived in Lagos in August 2002. It started and was nurtured in Umuokoro Umuariam and established and approved in Umuogele, crossing over by expansion to Umunebi — all in Umuariam Obowo L.G.A. of Imo State, Nigeria.
The School started at the time of incessant strike and moral decay in the school system. To salvage the situation, God through the directors Elder Ineh Christopher and Sis. Susan Ineh — via the advice and encouragement of Rev. E. C. Oriechukwu — established the school to bridge the gap, providing a Model School in the village so that our youth could have qualitative and quantitative education that is functional, enabling them to compete with their counterparts in the town.
The school started with seven (7) students on the 7th of October 2002. An application for approval of a Secondary School was forwarded to the Ministry of Education on the 10th of October 2003, and on the 17th May 2004 the school received Imo State approval to operate as a private secondary school after fulfilling all the requirements. The Primary School was also approved on 26th April 2005.
On 3rd of May 2007, the Secondary School was upgraded into a Senior Secondary School and first sat for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and National Examination Council (NECO) in 2008. The 24 subjects accredited included Technical Drawing, Building Construction, Applied Electricity, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Fine Arts, Agricultural Science, Financial Accounting, Foods and Nutrition, Geography, English Language, French Language, Igbo Language, Literature in English, and others. As at 2026, the school now offers additional subjects in line with the new national curriculum.
From inception, the school has invested — and continues to invest — in human resources. We now have over 45 staff across board and are making tremendous improvements in infrastructure, all channelled towards delivering qualitative, quantitative, and functional education. This is evidenced in our students' performance in external competitions and examinations.
